Elaine Bennett
KEYU founder, trainer and EYs teacher
Elaine began her career over 25 years ago as a Nursery Nurse before moving into teaching. Elaine is currently based in Shoeburyness, Essex as EYFS Leader. She has also worked as an EYFS adviser at Southend OnSea LA, where her particular focus was raising the profile of maths and moderation. As well as teaching, she now works as a freelance Early Years consultant and specialises in delivering training, workshops and keynote speeches focusing on mathematical development. Elaine is passionate about the power of play to make maths real, exciting, inspiring and accessible for children and the adults that support them. Being still very firmly based in practice means that Elaine's consultancy work is current and full of real life stories from her busy, happy classroom

Anna Ephgrave

Anna Ephgrave is the author of four best-selling early years books: Planning in the Moment with Young Children: A Practical Guide for Early Years Practitioners and Parents: The Nursery Year in Action, The Reception Year in Action and Year 1 in Action. She has developed a practical, common sense approach to embedding a play-based curriculum for children aged 3-7 years old. There's continuity, progression, high challenge and enjoyment. Anna has been through multiple OFSTED inspections with outstanding results in her various roles.

Kym Scott
KEYU admin, trainer and author
Before starting her own consultancy business, Kym Scott headed up the Early Years Advisory Team in the London Borough of Lewisham, where she was School Improvement Advisor for Early Years for 15 years, following a successful teaching and senior leadership career in London schools. Her advisory role enabled her to work closely with many schools and settings in a variety of circumstances and she has a proven track record of helping leaders to raise the quality of their EYFS provision and improve outcomes for children. Lewisham has recently been named as one of the top places in the country for children’s development due to how well children in the borough achieve at the end of Reception.
As well as contributing articles for various early years journals, Kym has co-authored a number of books including the widely acclaimed publication 'A Place to Learn' which has sold extensively both in this country and overseas.
Kym works nationally and internationally, providing consultancy, training, workshops and keynote speeches on a number of subjects related to early years, but is especially passionate about children leading their own learning and how adults can best support this.

Kathryn Solly
KEYU admin, trainer and author
Kathryn is a specialist Early Years trainer and consultant working around Britain and internationally. Previously she was the Headteacher of the historic and diverse Chelsea Open Air Nursery School and Children’s Centre for nearly 17 years. However, Kathryn started her pedagogic life as a secondary school teacher on Voluntary Service Overseas in Papua New Guinea for two years. Since then she has taught across all the phases of education in a variety of places including a short time in an Albanian kindergarten. She retrained to teach in the early years and has since achieved a special needs qualification and an M.A. in Early Education and Care.She has travelled widely and studied education and care in Italy, Germany, Iceland, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Australia.
Kathryn was awarded the Unilever Fellowship researching aspects of Early Years Leadership and Management in 2006. She has contributed articles to several journals and books on a variety of aspects of young children’s play, teaching and learning. Her first book ‘Adventure, Risk and Challenge in the Early Years’ was published in December 2014. She is an experienced and passionate public speaker, trainer and consultant at home and abroad. She is a Froebel Travelling Tutor, and is Vice Chair of the Early Childhood Forum.
